Paul Saunders

Paul Saunders is a founder and principal of James River Capital Corp. and affiliated companies (“James River”) and portfolio manager for James River’s financial products. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of James River Capital Corp. and James River Financial Corp. since 1995.

Mr. Saunders’ activity in the alternative investment world is a logical outlet for his lifelong interest in finance. He began his career in investment banking and then moved into investment and trading, a financial field where meritocracy, not hierarchy, could dictate his path to success. For 30+ years since then, he has risen through the ranks in the field.

Paul Saunders and his wife of 39 years, Vicki, are also passionate about philanthropy. They have supported numerous organizations and also recently launched The Saunders Family Foundation, to further their collective philanthropic goals.
